It is not a lucky period for Davide Giugliano: after the failed renewal with Ducati, which will welcome Marco Melandri from next year, the Roman rider suffered a series of falls in the last two rounds which have progressively compromised his condition physical.

In Race 2 on the wet asphalt of the Lausitzring, Giugliano suffered a bad muscle tear in his left shoulder, the same one that was affected by the falls at Magny-Cours during free practice and the first qualifying heat.
Declared unfit to race, he immediately returned to Italy to continue treatment and fully recover in view of the twelfth round, scheduled for Jerez de la Frontera from 14 to 16 October.

WorldSBK.com caught up with him to take stock of his fitness and his future.
"Now I'm better. I am working to improve my conditions. There's nothing broken in my shoulder, I had two fairly significant muscle tears that didn't allow me to ride well. Professionals are following me, I'm doing a lot of physiotherapy and I'm trying to resolve this situation for Jerez."

Thinking back to the Fassi French Round, David Giugliano he explained: “In France I really didn't have any strength in my arm, after the second stint of the first free practice I couldn't lift it anymore, and being left-handed, it's not easy. Now we have seen the problem clearly and we are working on it. I'll definitely be there in Jerez and I'll ride, it's normal that I'll have a bit of pain, but we're riders, it's what we all face at least twice a year."

The last line is about the future: "I'm working with my collaborators for my future, we're having different conversations, I'm calm and we're moving forward."
