Davide Gigliano he leaves Ducati at the end of the year, to make room for Marco Melandri who in 2017 will be part of the official team of the Red Panigale in Superbike together with Chaz Davies. The Roman has been racing in SBK since 2012 and to date, after 4 years with Ducati and one with Aprilia, he still hasn't managed to win a race, both because he is a very "fiery" guy, always ready to throw his heart out the obstacle, but also because he was often hit by bad luck. Interviewed by Motosprint, Giugliano states that the separation was desired by both parties, after 3 consecutive years together, there was a desire to follow different paths.

“I don't know if it's right to call it a divorce – said Davide Giugliano – we are not in a situation of rift between me and Ducati. The relationship is very good and it is not excluded that he may return in the future. From the outside I often hear that my falls are due to not being satisfied with my placings. But that's not the case, Superbike is really difficult, you're always at the limit. Chaz and I are called to give 110% and the Panigale is a futuristic bike. Now, however, some great satisfactions are arriving, like at Laguna Seca. I am convinced that without the red flag (arrived while he was in the lead ed.) it would have been difficult for others to pass me. The future? I'm talking to several teams from SBK but also from Moto2."

Thanks Giuliano. I liked seeing you riding the Ducati and often, unfortunately, you drove not at the limit, beyond the limit. It's a spectacular ride, which makes the fans love you, but which often left a bad taste in the mouth, unfortunately I repeat. I'm sorry that you suffered 2 really career-threatening accidents, in the hope that everything is now just a memory, I wish you the best for your career.

    Great Julian
    Great Ducati
