Yesterday in Jerez Tom Sykes won his first world title in Superbike. The Kawasaki rider therefore regained what he had lost by only half a point last year at Magny Cours, in favor of our Max Biaggi.

Today Dainese, which supplies the Huddersfield rider with the suit, boots and gloves, wanted to thank him in a press release, which we report below.

“Dainese is proud to celebrate the English rider of the Kawasaki Racing Team Tom Sykes who yesterday, on the Spanish circuit of Jerez, won the title of 2013 Superbike World Champion.

Dainese would like to thank the great rider and friend Tom Sykes for the emotions of this season dotted with 8 superpoles, 18 podiums, 9 victories and 13 record laps.

Tom, after only coming within half a point of the 2012 title won by the other great Dainese rider Max Biaggi, demonstrated great commitment, consistency and willpower which were rewarded with the world title during the last round of the Superbike World Championship. ”
