Historic day for Ducati today at Motorland in Aragon: Chaz Davies took the Panigale R to the top step of the podium, for the first time in the history of World Superbike, also scoring his fifth personal career success.

Davies also breaks a streak of successes in WorldSBK which lasted 58 races for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer (the last one was for Sylvain Guintoli at Magny-Cours, in race 1, in 2012).

The Welsh driver made a perfect start from second on the grid and this time managed to get away from his rivals, finishing more than three seconds behind the pair of Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam.
With this podium, Rea thus rises to 140 points, 26 more than his former teammate.

Fourth solo we find Jordi Torres, riding the second official Aprilia RSV4 RF, followed at a great distance by Xavi Fores and David Salom who was able to get the better of Leandro Mercado and Michael van der Mark in the final, with Ayrton Badovini and Nico Terol closing the top-10.

Almost in an ideal handover, Tom Sykes had a bad fall on the fifth lap, at turn 15 and two laps later Sylvain Guintoli followed him, slipping at the previous corner.
Perhaps it is too early to make these calculations, given that the championship is still very long, but certainly looking at the performances put on the track, one cannot hide the fact that the two great rivals of the last two years are in great difficulty, in full psychological crisis, even if for Guintoli certainly doesn't help with the technical means.

I reiterate here my opinion that I said at the beginning of the championship regarding Ducati in SBK:
with this regulation it is the best bike, but not having taken Rea was a serious mistake, which is even more evident if you look at where Sykes is now.
Having said that, well done to Davies for making the most of the bike properly, as is Rea. Regret for Giugliano who is faster than Davies but falls too much, and so he doesn't go far.
Well done Badovini, someone should ask themselves how it is possible for someone who hasn't been on the move for a year to get on a bike they haven't tried before and achieve those results, it's almost shameful.
Very good Jules Cluzel, he is the driver I most enjoy watching of all, in my opinion he is much better than what is commonly thought.

I say goodbye to Fatman, hoping he is well.
