Another weekend to forget for the BMW Team drivers.
Here are their statements:
Marco Melandri:
“Once again it was a black weekend for me.
When Max Biaggi passed me I kept my inside line and didn't really see him. I just heard the sound of something touching the front of my bike.
I fell and felt something hit my back. I was very worried about my back, kidneys and liver because I felt very bad.
Fortunately, medical tests confirmed that everything is ok. Now I'm a little better because I took a lot of painkillers but I'm not at my best."
Leon Haslam:
“Throughout the weekend we felt good with the slick tire and the set up was good but today it rained. Normally I like rain but today it was tough.
In race 1 I thought the track would dry out so I chose the intermediate tire on the rear but it was a gamble. At the restart of race 1 I changed tires, making the same choice as the others. Unfortunately, however, I left early so I had to ride through.
In race 2 I didn't start at my best but the race pace wasn't the best. Even though I was using the same tires as yesterday, they didn't perform as well. We also had a technical problem.
Once again our luck has turned its back on us, it's frustrating.”

...Marco is a natural talent, he would be MotoGP if only his head worked, I won't say perfectly but at least like Max's...and wait a moment before responding to the attack...it was only the beginning and you're playing for a world championship... in any case, he may be in the mood (for example to myself) but Biaggi is still there at 41 years old, an example for everyone!!!
Maybe he was furious, but races are like that. Marco is the only one who won with the BMW, even risking a lot, but when things go well they're good, if things go badly they're dicks, for 2 or 3 centimeters fall or win, that's how it is. I fully agree with you regarding Max Biaggi, the Alonso of Superbike!!
True... they are always great...
However, I am almost more satisfied with the young people and the new arrivals (see Giuliano, Baz, Camier, Davies, Sykes himself and Rea), fresh air, competitiveness and courage for the next few years are assured... Better than that, a fight until the last round makes everything truly spectacular to follow!! Great SBK!!!
Although.. I hope some top-to-bottom competition would be better..
...I also like young people...as a Ducati fan I really like Giugliano but I admit that Davies is really strong...he forced himself in the race and fell, ok...but he's more excusable than a Melandri who is competing for a world championship...sorry for the outburst but in my opinion the man from Ravenna is really strong, like a MotoGP...it's a shame that his brain is for an uphill championship!!!

I agree. Even about the uphill championship; you made me laugh, because I know many of those people who race there and I have to say that it's exactly like that. Not all of them maybe, but almost!
