The hot Andalusian afternoon hindered the work of the riders involved in the second free practice session at the Circuit de Jerez for the eleventh round of the season: therefore the first two positions nor their respective times have changed, with Tom Sykes ahead of teammate Jonathan Rea for just 24 thousandths of a second.

The former 2013 world champion was also the protagonist of a harmless crash in the initial stages, which however did not compromise the final timing.
Alex Lowes, who set an excellent 1'42.047 after the technical problems he encountered in the first part of the morning session, moved up the order and preceded Chaz Davies with the fourth fastest time, followed by Niccolò Canepa (Althea Racing Ducati).
Jordi Torres also improved, sixth, despite a small crash that was almost a photocopy of the one he suffered in the morning.
Seventh position for the other Aprilia rider Leon Haslam, followed by Matteo Baiocco (Althea Racing Ducati), Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Superbike Team) and Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda World Superbike), who closes the top 10 with almost seven tenths late.

Next meeting tomorrow morning at 10 with the third test session, the last ones valid for the purposes of access to the Tissot-Superpole in the afternoon.
