SBK | Gp Imola Superpole Race: Razgatlıoglu beats Bautista, Locatelli is third
Great race for the Yamaha rider who repeats the success of the Donington Superpole Race
SBK Gp Imola Superpole Race – An extraordinary Toprak Razgatlıoglu won the Superpole Race of the Imola Grand Prix, seventh round of the 2023 Superbike.
The Yamaha rider squeezed his R1 giving 110% to close the gap with the Ducati Panigale V4R of reigning champion Alvaro Bautista, who finished second 0.244s behind the Turk.
For Razgatlıoglu it is the third victory of the season (all Superpole Races, ed.), the 35th victory and the 101st podium in Superbike.
An excellent race by Andrea Locatelli, who after leading the race in the first laps, finished on the third step of the podium, bringing his Yamaha YZF R1 just 1.720s from the top.
Jonathan Rea crossed the finish line in fourth place, placing his Kawasaki ZX-10RR ahead of the Ducati Panigale V4R of Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team Factory) and Axel Bassani (Team Motocorsa) and the ZX-10RR of team-mate Alex Lowes.
Danilo Petrucci from Terni finished eighth, leading the Ducati Panigale V4R of the Barni Racing Team ahead of the BMW M1000 RRs of Scott Redding and Loris Baz.
Gabriele Ruiu had a good race as he finished 1000th on the BMW M17 RR, ahead of the Yamaha YZF R1 of his compatriot Lorenzo Baldassarri. Roberto Tamburini with the Honda CBR1000 RR-R finished 21st.
