VR46 Riders Academy – Stefano Manzi, from Rimini, born in 1999, joined Valentino Rossi's VR46 Riders Academy. Manzi had been a great protagonist at Silverstone, where he had been the author of a great race, which had taken him from the twelfth row to the foot of the podium, after an exhilarating comeback.

In 2010, still very young, Stefano Manzi won the Italian MiniGP championship in the 50cc category, also winning the following year in the 70cc class. In 2012 he entered the Red Bull Rookies Cup where he finished third in 2013 and 2014.

He made his debut in the Moto3 world championship in 2015, scoring points on 4 occasions. Equally positive were the participations as wild cards in the three races of the 2016 world championship, the last at Misano.

“I am very happy that Stefano has joined the Academy – he says Alessio Salucci, Head of VR46 Riders Academy – He is a very talented boy, as are the other boys who train together every day to achieve important results. Stefano has already demonstrated that he has great skills as a driver, finishing fourth in a difficult race like Silverstone, among the world's greatest talents. We will make sure to help him on this journey by making all our specialists and facilities available to him. Welcome Stefano!”

“I know all the guys at the VR46 Riders Academy well – he says Stefano manzi – and I am very happy to be able to train together with them. They are achieving excellent results in the world championship and that's what I would like to do too. I will strive to do my best, using this important opportunity to grow as much as possible. I thank all the staff of the VR46 Riders Academy for trusting me: I will do everything to repay it. Now I can't wait to start this new adventure!”
