Simoncelli, Fausto Gresini: “It all happened so quickly, I'm speechless”

Fausto Gresini, owner of the team for which Marco Simoncelli raced, is heartbroken by the loss of his rider. The former world champion is shocked, he who has already had to endure the loss of another pilot, the unforgettable Daijiro Kato, finds himself once again facing a harsh reality. Here are his words.

“The next day we suffer even more – says the Team manager as reported by SportMediaset – It all happened so quickly, I'm speechless. I know risk is part of our job, but you always hope that nothing happens. When it happens and you find yourself in it, everything changes, it's difficult to accept it. It was an accident caused by a series of incredible negative circumstances. The bike that went towards the inside of the corner instead of the outside, being hit on the widest track in the MotoGP. I have many images that come back to my mind from these two years spent together, Marco was spontaneous, someone who always did what he thought, with a heart of gold and always sunny. I don't remember seeing him get angry once. The only certain thing is that my team will not participate in the next Grand Prix in Valencia, nor in the tests scheduled for the days following the race.”
