SBK| Winter Test Jerez: Melandri is the fastest on the fourth day

Tests continue on the Jerez de la Frontera track to best prepare for the winter work in view of the next MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship 2018: the riders taking to the track were only Marco Melandri and Michael Ruben Rinaldi from the STK1000 (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Xavi Fores with the BARNI Racing Team, Pata Yamaha with Alex Lowes, Michael Van der Mark and Niccolò Canepa, and Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team)

Chaz Davies did not take to the track after the bad fall on Wednesday in which he suffered a small injury to his right knee.

With the Kawasaki resting to get back to work on Friday, the fastest rider was Marco Melandri, who stopped the clock at 1'39.663, just a tenth ahead of Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team ) who together with his new technical chief Andrew Pitt seems to have found a competitive set-up for his YZF-R1.
Teammate Michael van der Mark, however, finished the day in fifth place.

Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team) made some important improvements on the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2, setting the third fastest time overall in 1'39.797.

Fourth time for Xavi Fores (BARNI Racing Team) who continued to work on the set-up of his Panigale, in 1'40.002, focusing mainly on the race pace.
