Nothing happened in the third free practice session at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where the ninth round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is being held: the rain, which fell from half of the second Supersport free practice sessions, effectively prevented the riders from performing regularly the tests and many of them remained in the pits the whole time.

Lorenzo Savadori (Milwaukee Aprilia), the fastest since the end of FP2, remains in the lead followed by teammate Eugene Laverty and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK).

Fourth time for Loriz Baz (GULF Althea BMW Racing Team) closes the first day at Misano, keeping many official bikes behind him such as the Yamaha of Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team), the CBR Fireblade of Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team) and the Panigale of Marco Melandri (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), seventh.

Xavi Fores (Barni racing Team) is eighth, Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) is ninth and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) closes the top ten. These are the riders who will have direct access to Superpole 2. Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team) and Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK) are the losers in the rain of FP3. Rinaldi, returning to WorldSBK after missing the Laguna Seca Round, is just 45 thousandths away from qualifying for Superpole 2, while van der Mark is twelfth and will have to switch to SP1.

Only Jordi Torres (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Leandro Mercado (Orelac Racing VerdNAtura) attempted to take to the track during FP3, both were twenty seconds slower than their previous timed times.

See you tomorrow at 10am with the Tissot-superpole and at 30pm with the start of Race13.
