During the Aragon weekend, both riders of the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK team, despite having finished close to the leading group in both races, were not satisfied with their performances: expectations after the fantastic Race 2 in Thailand which ended with a double podium, were decidedly higher than the results obtained.

Michael Van der Mark in particular, he seemed very disappointed with his result, despite two consecutive fifth places: “We have another fifth place, but to be honest I'm not that happy with the result. I had a good start, but immediately afterwards I had problems with the front tyre,” explains the Dutchman. “The race was long and halfway through I lost a gear, so I lost two more positions. In the end I battled with Alex, but I'm not really happy with the result. I had problems with the front straight away, so I had no feeling and there was no way to stay with the riders in front. To be honest, with the higher temperatures I imagined it might happen. However we were there and accumulated valuable points. For Assen we have to improve and fight for the podium, for sure."

Also alex lowes he didn't feel comfortable with the R1, although on Sunday he managed to improve the result of the first race, finishing ahead of his teammate: “Difficult race, difficult weekend, I wasn't fast enough. Today I felt that fourth place was the best we could aspire to. I know that in some areas I want to improve and now we have a few days before Assen, so I hope we will be stronger there. I always enjoy battles, but I would have preferred if it had been for first and second place, not fourth and fifth."
