Great emotions at the TT Circuit of Assen during the Tissot-Superpole which decided the starting grid for Race 1 (that of the second race as is known will depend on the order of arrival of the first): against all odds Alex Lowes wins the his first pole position thanks to a 1'34.066 which beats Jonathan Rea and Xavi Fores, who rides the Panigale of the Ducati satellite team.

The Yamaha rider is understandably very happy with the result, given that free practice saw him a bit overshadowed by his teammate, and reiterates that the feeling with the bike is good but the games will be played in the race, where Jonathan Rea he is sure to do better.
The reigning champion has in fact declared that second place, by just 56 hundredths, is only the result of a series of small mistakes he made in his fast laps: he is sure he has the best pace and technical package and he wants to demonstrate it between little in the race.

Great satisfaction again for Xavi Fores who set the third time, however, more than three tenths behind Lowes: the Panigale, unlike the first three rounds, does not seem to have the potential to stay ahead of the Kawasakis on this track, but in the race the variables can be many, so the Spaniard will try to stay in contact with the leading group to see what happens.

Good performance for Lorenzo Savadori with an Aprilia which at the TT Circuit seems like a completely different bike from the one seen in the first outings of the season: the Italian rider occupies the second row with the fourth fastest time together with Marco Melandri and Tom Sykes, protagonist at the end of the qualifications of a spat with Rinaldi, guilty of having slowed him down.
The Arabuba Racing Junior driver, who will start twelfth, was called to a confrontation with the KRT driver in which he justified himself by saying that he hadn't really seen him: a small flaw in experience for the rookie.

The third row is occupied by the two disappointments of the day: home idol Michael van der Mark, after free practice as the absolute protagonist, did not go beyond the seventh fastest time, while Chaz Davies was eighth ahead of Jordi Torres.
For the Dutch rider the insult is double if we consider that his teammate obtained pole position, while to make definitive judgments on Davies we await the race, where the Ducati rider usually gives his best.

Fourth row for the two riders who emerged from the first round of Tissot-Superpole Loris Baz and Toprak Razgatlioglu, together with Michael Ruben Rinaldi.

Race 1 will start at 13pm and will see 18 drivers at the start. In fact, the defection of Jake Gagne should be noted, still sore from the bad crash in FP2 and forced to withdraw at least for the first of the two scheduled races.
