The 2018 season of the World Championship of series dinghys is at the halfway point and rumors inevitably begin about what will be the starting grid for 2019.

The Speedweek.com website reports two interesting rumors: the first claims that Yamaha intends to increase its commitment in WorldSbk by bringing one/two more bikes, to the detriment of its presence in WorldSSP.

The Yamaha R6s in Supersport would be managed by private teams, with a focus on scouting talent for the jump in category, as Yamaha race director Andrea Dosoli explains: “If we could bring a talented WorldSSP rider to the Superbike World Championship, we would be happy . This is why we'd love to have one or two more R1s on the Superbike grid. We could offer an opportunity to the best 600 rider. I'm not sure if we will need an official team in the World Supersport Championship. It is certainly important for us to have a reference team where we can bring the riders from the bLU cRU Challenge and offer them the support they need."

The site also reports the indiscretion of Suzuki's sensational return to WorldSbk, with Bradley Ray as the main candidate for starting rider: it seems that Steve Hicken's team, supported by the Japanese manufacturer, will arrive at the world championship next season, after years in BSB .

If confirmed, these rumors would be sensational and interest in the championship would increase: we'll see what materializes.
