SBK Gp Misano Ducati Barni Racing – Danilo Petrucci finished Race 2 of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, fifth stage of the 2023 World Championship, in seventh position.

he day was conditioned by the episode that occurred at the second corner of the Superpole Race: a contact between Petrux and Aegerter led the race direction to punish the #9 with a long lap penalty for irresponsible driving. Having fallen to 10th position, Danilo tried to recover, but in turn 8 he ended up on the ground after colliding with Lecuona. In the fall Petrucci suffered a severe bruise to his right hip, but after medical tests which ruled out fractures, he was declared fit for race 2. The rider from Terni, forced to start from tenth position, gritted his teeth and managed to set excellent times, finishing the race in seventh position.

Danilo Petrucci Statements Misano GP Race 2

“From a performance point of view we have always been in the top 5 in all rounds, but for one reason or another we were unable to get on the podium in the race. Yesterday the fall when I could have risked it, this morning the contact at the second corner which cost me the long lap penalty, then the second fall which caused a nice hematoma on my right side. In race 2, if I had started with the qualifying position I could have finished further ahead, but today I was struggling to drive, let alone overtaking. I would have really liked to celebrate a good result with all these fans who came to visit us, but the positive aspect is that we managed to improve our performances a lot and be consistent. I await all the fans in Imola."
