SBK | Aragon GP Qualifying: Record-breaking Rea takes pole
Bautista and Razgatlioglu on the front row
SBK GP Aragon Qualifying – Jonathan Rea was the fastest in qualifying for the Aragon Grand Prix, the tenth round of the Superbike World Championship scheduled for this weekend at Motorland.
The British driver, with a stratospheric time of 1:47.973, took pole, leaving his pursuers very little hope. Alvaro Bautista, who will start from second place, is 351 thousandths behind, while Toprak Razgatioglu, third, finishes over half a second behind the "Cannibale".
Fourth time for Andrea Locatelli, followed by Michael Rinaldi and Iker Lecuona. Seventh time for Axel Bassani, immediately ahead of Phillip Oettl, Remy Gardner and Garret Garloff. Lorenzo Baldassarri finished 15th fastest, while Gabriele Ruiu was 23rd.
Session to forget for Danilo Petrucci, who fell in his first attempt. The rider from Terni, after demonstrating great speed during free practice, will start from the back.
