SBK GP Aragon Ducati Barni – Danilo Petrucci finished Race 1 of the Aragon Grand Prix, tenth stage of the world championship, in fifth position.

The rider from Terni crashed during the super pole and was forced to start from the back of the grid. In the race he managed an epic comeback, asking for the best customer bike.

Statements Danilo Petrucci GP Aragon

“I don't know if I want to be angry or happy. I'm really disappointed with the mistake I made in Superpole. It's the first time in my career that I crashed on the first lap. Maybe I was too convinced of the possibility of conquering pole position. I didn't finish the first lap. During the race I simply realized that I was faster than those in front of me. A shame but I'm really happy as the bike was good. I hope to be able to finish in the top nine in the Superpole Race tomorrow to start later in Race 2. I would be happy to get on the podium. Tomorrow morning the goal will be to finish in the top nine to start at least from the third row, always better than from the eighth! I don't know if I will be able to fight for the victory. Today I had excellent feelings and it was a good opportunity but I made a mistake. I still have a chance to get on the podium."
