It was a very positive race 2 for the Althea BMW Racing Team held yesterday, Sunday 3 April, for the Pirelli Aragon Round: Jordi Torres finished in fifth final position, maintaining a consistent pace for all 18 laps.

Although Motorland is famous for putting tires to the test, it was in the second part of the race that Torres showed a very fast pace, which allowed him to overtake Van Der Mark on lap 13 for fifth position, which he maintained until the finish line.
An important result because the gap to the winner remained small.

Markus Reiterberger, however, suffered a drop in tire performance, going beyond fifteenth place.

Another positive note for the team came from Raffaele De Rosa's third place in the first Superstock 1000 race of the 2016 season.

At the conclusion of this third round of the 2016 championship, Jordi Torres is seventh in the general classification with 53 points, while Reiterberger is ninth with 31 points.
BMW is currently fourth in the manufacturers' standings with 57 points, the same position for the Althea BMW team in the teams' standings, with 84 points.

“Today's race went well. During the reconnaissance lap I already understood that I had greater confidence with the front compared to yesterday" – he said Jordi Torres – So I managed to be faster straight away, trying to stay with the riders in front of me. After a few laps I realized that it was necessary to save the tires a bit, so I changed my driving style slightly, trying to manage the front tire as best as possible. This way I was able to have a good race. I'm happy that even today we collected a lot of data and I think that little by little we'll get there."

“We improved the setting a little today. My feeling wasn't bad in the first laps and I managed to stay with those immediately in front of me” – she said Markus Reiterberger – “But from mid-race onwards I lost confidence and my lap times went up. In the last phase of the race I gave up a few positions and I only had the goal of finishing the race. I'm disappointed with how this weekend went, but now we need to take stock of the situation to find the right feeling for the next races.”

“A very positive weekend, full of satisfactions. I think we had two excellent races in SBK with Torres, reaching a seventh and a fifth place, which in my opinion are very positive and give confidence to the whole team" – he declared Genesio Bevilacqua, General Manager of Team Althea – “From here we can continue to improve with all the indications we have collected and which I think will be useful to us during the next tests that we will carry out on 5/6 April. I'm sorry for Reiterberger who suffered from the choice of rear tire in both race 1 and race 2 but I'm sure he'll make up for it soon. We continue to be positive and the team is very motivated. A fantastic third place for De Rosa! In my opinion he could have done even more, but the race was affected by the red flag and this had an effect on his race strategy, with the race shortened from 13 to 8 laps. His third place is very positive and good for the championship. I saw a very motivated Raffaele. I thank the entire BMW team and technicians, especially Bertie Hauser who was here with us this weekend.”
