After two very positive rounds, with three podium finishes in four races, Michael Van der Mark had to face a difficult weekend at the Motorland of Aragon: for him a crash in the first heat of the Pirelli Aragon Round and a seventh place in the second.

The young Dutchman had to take many risks in the race due to the fact that he started from eleventh place, mainly due to the crash in Tissot-Superpole, which prevented him from taking advantage of all the time available to him.
Van der Mark intends to make up for it at Assen, in front of his home crowd, where last year he achieved an extraordinary double podium placing.
He entrusted his assessment to WorldSbk.com at the end of the third round of the season:

“It was a really difficult day, we started having problems with the bike this morning and I didn't do many laps in the warm up and in the race I didn't have any confidence with the front” – he explained Van Der Mark – “I made a decent start and was fast for a couple of laps, but with the front problem… it's still not clear why… it was a really difficult race”.
The Ten Kate team rider had made a great start, and was trying to catch up with the race leaders before starting to lose ground.
“We had improved after Friday, but it was a really strange race for me” added Van Der Mark who is fourth in the championship after Aragon. “I'm proud to have finished the race and brought home some points, but this isn't the way I'm used to racing.
How difficult was it for the 2014 Supersport champion to find the right set-up after Saturday's problems?
“Honestly it wasn't very difficult, but there was another problem on the bike. On Friday morning we started with a set-up that worked, it also worked in the afternoon and we changed a few things. It worked well until Saturday morning and now it's really difficult to explain why it didn't work today."
