Aprilia says no to Ducati, offer rejectedAprilia says no to Ducati, offer rejected

Aprilia has rejected the takeover proposal put forward by Ducati Motor Holding. This is the text released by the board of directors of the Venetian company:
“The board, having expressed its appreciation for the contribution and effort made by Ducati, nevertheless considered that the conditions for the extension of the exclusivity previously granted to Ducati did not exist. The board has consequently decided to continue, without exclusivity constraints, the examination of the proposals put forward by those interested in leading the restructuring and relaunch of Aprilia".

Roberto Colaninno's Piaggio is therefore back in the game but the concern of the Fiom-Cgil union is also rising which, through the voice of Giorgio Cremaschi, national secretary, speaks of the "emergence of a crisis in which industrial and employment reasons risk taking an absolute back seat compared to to financial and speculative logics.”
