Valentino Rossi, through Yamaha press officer William Favero, has made it known that his recovery from the Mugello accident is progressing well and that he would like to get back on the bike as soon as possible. Rossi had suffered a fracture in the middle third of his severely dislocated and exposed right tibia and a displaced fracture of the fibula after a fall in free practice at Mugello.

“Vale is fine – said William Favero as reported by Sportmediaset – I went to see him before leaving for Barcelona. The leg is already healed and Vale has a great desire to get back on the bike. If it were up to him he would have also raced at Montmelò, but it can't be like this. He still needs crutches to walk."

A plausible date for his return as already written extensively would be August 15th, the date on which the Czech Republic GP will take place although Rossi would even like to try to race on July 15th at Laguna Seca, which however is unlikely.
