Last warm up of the season in Valencia for the MotoGP class riders. A warm up that saw the American Nicky Hayden excel, fifth in qualifying yesterday. The Ducati rider stopped the clock at a time of 1'33"247, putting 2010 world champion Jorge Lorenzo and poleman Casey Stoner behind him by 160 and 332 thousandths respectively.

Dani Pedrosa moves up positions, eighth yesterday and fourth today with his Honda; the Repsol Honda Team rider is followed by the Yamaha of Colin Edwards' Team Tech3, by our Marco Simoncelli on the Honda of Team Gresini (he will start from the front row) and by Hector Barbera.

Only seventh is Valentino Rossi still struggling with the set-up of his Yamaha M1. The nine-time world champion, now in his last race with Yamaha, is determined to get on the podium before moving to Ducati. Behind Rossi we find Ben Spies, Andrea Dovizioso and Hiroshi Aoyama. Capirossi and Melandri (the latter in his last race before moving to Superbike) were still performing poorly in thirteenth and fifteenth position respectively.
