MotoGP | Valencia Test Day 1: Oliveira, “Happy with what we managed to do”
Positive day for the Portuguese from the KTM Tech 3 team, absolute debutant in the premier class
Valencia Test – Positive debut for Miguel Oliveira aboard the KTM RC16 entrusted to the Tech 3 team. The Portuguese, an absolute rookie in MotoGP, completed thirty-three laps today, marking the twenty-fifth time in the general classification.
A day dedicated to study where the team preferred not to focus on time, thus allowing the Moto2 vice champion to correctly learn the many commands that regulate the functioning of the KTM RC16.
Here are the words of Miguel Oliveira (25th, best time 1'35.118, 33 laps): “I'm really happy to officially sit on a MotoGP for the first time. It all obviously seems quite strange, given that we spent a lot of time on the track familiarizing ourselves with the controls. I tried to get the best feeling possible, as well as picking up something from the electronics. I'm quite happy with what we managed to do and we hope to take other concrete steps tomorrow."
