MotoGP Valencia, Qualifying: Valentino Rossi "Today didn't go bad.. nice helmet for Simoncelli"

Good qualifications for Valentino Rossi in Valencia, scene of the last stage of the 2011 world championship. The Ducati rider (today he took to the track with a helmet dedicated to Marco Simoncelli) in fact closed the session with the sixth fastest time and will therefore start from the second row. If it rains tomorrow the nine-time world champion will have a great opportunity to do well. The word is up to him.

“Today wasn't bad, we got the second row. In the end I liked the setting, I was able to ride well and the pace isn't bad either. I lose in the slow corners while in the central part I am very fast. If it rains tomorrow we can do well, let's wait. I lose a lot in T1 and T4. If T1 has always been difficult for me here, in T4 I was going well but instead I lose on the exit, the bike rears up a lot. Many tenths are stupidly lost.”

Rossi then talks about the helmet worn in memory of Marco Simoncelli, the Team Gresini rider who tragically died in Sepang.
“It's nice to have that helmet on your head (referring to Simoncelli's helmet), nice and above all it has a much more important and profound meaning than the others; I would like to use it as much as possible. I hope the “Sic” is happy to see him.”
