MotoGP Valencia, Qualifying: Nicky Hayden “I thought I could get closer to those in front”

Nicky Hayden set the seventh fastest time in the final qualifying of the season in Valencia. The American from Ducati had problems with the front of his Desmosedici, which tended to close. He thought he could reduce the gap to the leaders, but he didn't succeed in his aim. The word is up to him.

“With such uncertain weather conditions throughout the weekend we basically had to use qualifying to understand the new grip of the asphalt, the bike and to try to set a good time. The set-up was “ok” but I tended to lose the front, especially when braking when entering corners. The new asphalt certainly helped us a little but I thought I could get closer to those in front who, however, went really fast. I'm not thrilled with how it went but we have a couple more ideas to try in the warm-up tomorrow.”
