“This pole is very important, fundamental, it was very important to start from the front. This morning with the qualifying tire we had done 1'31"8 and I knew I could go faster. This afternoon we did 1'31"0, a great lap. All the guys on the team worked well, let's hope that tomorrow there will be this weather and these people."

Troy Bayliss (2nd half)
“I'm very happy, in 2003 I made my debut with the Desmosedici project and this race will be the last of the 990cc. In fact, next year there will be the 800cc and so I am very satisfied. I hope I can have a good race.”

Loris Capirossi (3rd half)
“I'm satisfied, this morning we did 21 laps with an excellent race pace. I'm very confident for the race; as I already said, tomorrow I don't want to get in anyone's way, I'll do my race.”
