Valentino Rossi closed the first day of MotoGP free practice in Valencia, the last stage of the 2012 world championship, with the fifth fastest time. The rider from Pesaro, in his last race with Ducati, is also happy with the resurfacing work on the circuit. The word is up to him.

“They did a great job with the resurfacing of the track because a lot of the potholes are gone. The “grip” is not fantastic yet, but it is quite normal, it takes a little time, and in any case the first impression in general is good. This morning on the water we weren't right with the set-up but we changed it and, in the second session, in the few laps I did at the beginning, I saw that it was much better. If it were to continue raining tomorrow it would be interesting to continue working on it. Even in the last minutes of the session, with the track drying out and with the "slick" tyres, the feeling wasn't bad but I didn't push too hard because the conditions weren't ideal. We'll see tomorrow what weather awaits us and in any case we will continue in this direction."

Let's hope for a top 6 qualifying tomorrow and a nice farewell race...

Today they were free and they say little, especially because there were no official bikes/riders on the track in Q2.

Then, at least here we all agree 100%, we start again on Tuesday with new faces on the bikes.

Best wishes to you for the challenge against Lorenzo which will still be tough, Best wishes to Dovizioso and Iannone who need it, best wishes also to Nicky, considered and commented on by few but still "World Champion" in Honda in 2006...

We can't all wait to see the new forces on the field again in the first pro tests of 2013, in the meantime... have fun everyone for the last championship race since... the games are now over.

You are right Lyon66 in the last few days I have read the articles here (where I found the usual childish comments from the usual talkative ones who do not deserve replies) and in other sites such as eurosport motosprint and others and the opinions in the various articles seem coherent and similar to me unfortunately Rossi, who is not my favorite rider, lost a bet with himself and with Ducati, both of them come out defeated but with a better prospect of the future than when they started their relationship two years ago. The good Nicky also says this, who in these two years has greatly appreciated the work done by Ducati on the references of Rossi and his team of engineers and says verbatim: "Valentino Rossi's departure from Ducati has been known for some time now. I was his teammate both in Honda and in Ducati, in very different circumstances and times, and I must say that he is a very classy person. Especially given how he has managed the difficulties of recent years, few with his titles won would have done the same. Then it's not fair to say that he didn't try. Just look at the number of Valentino Rossi falls. A rider falls when he pushes to the limit and exceeds it to try to improve." Therefore on Tuesday we will turn the page and a new challenge will begin so best wishes to all the riders and all the teams.
