Twelfth place at the end of the first day of free practice in Valencia for Cal Crutchlow, who admits to having wasted some time this morning, only to be forced into the garage in the afternoon due to disastrous track conditions due to bad weather.
Tomorrow he will have to work and give his best to finish the season as best he can.

“To be honest this wasn't a great day. I was looking forward to seeing what the asphalt would be like in the dry, but unfortunately the weather was a disaster. In this morning's session I should have been faster and further ahead than eighth place, but instead I sat in the garage for the last 10 minutes, when the times were getting lower. This afternoon I went out straight away at the start of the session, but the conditions were too wet for the rain tires and not dry enough for the slicks, so I preferred to stop and not take any risks.
I hope that tomorrow we can make better use of the track time because I want to finish the season with a great result."
