Valencian Community GP Valencia MotoGP Yamaha Race – Valentino Rossi closed the season with a fifth place obtained at the Valencia circuit. The Yamaha rider from Pesaro has had a mixed season, with only one success to his name in Assen, in the Dutch Grand Prix. Last night, in agreement with Yamaha, he decided to use the 2016 chassis, here's what he said after the race.

“We would have liked to do better, for sure, but it was the type of race I expected. I knew we would have to suffer, my pace over the weekend wasn't great. We didn't have enough grip, so we struggled – said Valentino Rossi – Now we're thinking about the pre-season tests which will be very important, because we have to reduce the gap, improve the setting and try to get ready for next season.”

Yamaha tried the 2016 chassis card, the one that equips Zarco's M1, on the podium today. The intent was to use it only in the warm up, but it was then decided to take it into the race with the rest of the 2017 bike.

“Last night we also tried to take the 2016 chassis and put it on the current bike. We tried it in the warm-up and then we also decided to use it in the race, because in the race it is easier to understand certain things. The bike was easier to ride, but the tire problem remains, so it was a very difficult race. We have little time and many problems to solve, it was a risky move, but it had to be done.”

    or in Yamaha they have become def1cent or red he says a lot of nonsense to cover his ass considering that the frame that led to Yamaha's great bankruptcy season was requested and made for him
    there are no excuses, the 2016 chassis worked and Zarco's second place is there to prove it, how is it possible that Yamaha doesn't know him and doesn't know how to set the bike to work well with the tyres? You don't have to ask zarco how do you set up a frame that they know with their eyes closed!

    Meda stated that it is absolutely not true that Yamaha followed Rossi's instructions, in fact... if anything they did the opposite!

    A few hours earlier, Vinales, admitting that he had "accepted" the 2017 chassis, then declared that he regretted not having imposed his will to return to 2016, hence his declaration "they should have listened to me...not others"
    At the same time, a rookie labeled as "not capable" with a customer bike and the old chassis regularly beat them both.
    So who should we believe, a driver who was going strong at the start of the championship and winning races, only to then founder when his team mate imposed his political weight, or a biased journalist who denies the evidence and would get flogged even though to agree with Rossi??

      but how??? You're the one listening and commenting on these things... but come on, I expected something better... what a disappointment!!!

    No no, it's the "incapable" driver who is lucky lol luckily the retirement isn't long :) even if he's a great driver his comments will certainly not be lacking lol

    Locatelli even said that Yamaha wasted time by not changing the chassis immediately with the one requested by Rossi and waiting for the first races, so it was Maverick's fault for winning!!!

  • whose said:

    why don't you get hired by Yamaha, with sports bar engineers like you they would thrive on arrogance...

    It's a shame to see the official Yamahas so far behind and to see it's worth 5th in the championship we have to go back to the times of the Ducati... and this is very strange. Not one, but both official riders, they are also very strong, this year they have fallen behind many times and this is strange, very strange, too strange, it is so strange that you can't believe it and for this reason I believe there is something else, something behind the scenes. I can also understand that Vale isn't as fast as he used to be, but Vinales who is worse than with the Suzuki doesn't exist

      In fact it seems too strange to me too, when Rossi says we tried everything without having results I believe that if Yamaha isn't stoned it also applies to Rossi and to say that Yamaha is doing badly because Lorenzo is no longer there and Ducati is winning because there is Lorenzo, it's absolutely ridiculous, in 2011 when Yamaha had to take back the 2010 chassis none of the usual ones said that the reason was the lack of Rossi, intelligent experts have been giving indications for the development of the bikes since 2000.

    I don't believe it! But what do I have to read! What's underneath if Yamaha goes bad? There's the fact that Vale couldn't take it, a rookie who beat him regularly (from the 2016 Valencia tests to the first races of the world championship). He did it, he shouted, he stamped his feet, he requested, so much so that they satisfied him and this is the result. I know how to weave a frame, I know how to inflate a tyre, I know how to run an engine. Whatever you want is behind it, the fact is that they trusted Vale and these are the results. I just hope they continue to listen to Vale in 2018 too, don't you think so too?

    GREAT DOVIZIOSO
    GREAT LORENZO
    GRANDE DUCATI

      Smart guy, why don't you now explain why they took the 2016 chassis instead of the first 2017 which was so successful for Vinales?

      1. bibo said:

        I'll explain it to you since you called me into question... :-) Vinales dominated all the winter tests, he won the first two races, all the sports journalists said that the championship was already sealed... but someone couldn't digest this... ….why change the chassis if it was a winner??? perhaps because there was only one person who was going strong with that frame….. :-) go fatman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      2. nandop6 said:

        bibo obviously I didn't call you into question, so you claim that they went back to the 2016 chassis and not the first 2017 because they had to please Rossi????? But what are you smoking???

        bibo = ligera?

        @bibo

        Dearest, I'm enjoying it like an Australian when he catches a vomiting canary with his boomerang... among other things, the hamburger was delicious and I didn't like it, on the contrary... I even met some Marc fans who told me it's worth it it seems like rikkion@ to them ahahahahahahahahahahaha I enjoy seeing them desperate: I imagine them with their nice plate of stewed shit@ remembering the 2015 biscuit just to sweeten their mouths ahahahahah!!!

      ligera or bibo, another thing, in the Valencia tests Vinales was very fast with the 1 M2016, why didn't he go well on Sunday with the same bike?

      1. fatman said:

        ...it didn't work simply because the frame wasn't 2016, you imb@lli were made to believe it... different frame attachments for the engine, therefore 2017 bike and that's it, with the main fault of the geriatrician who no longer has the enamel of once upon a time...actually, now they will only put nail polish on their nails ahahahahahahah...
