MotoGP Valencia FP2: Lorenzo raises his "voice", Dovizioso third, Marquez on the ground
The Ducati rider preceded Pedrosa, Dovizioso even better than Marquez
Valencian Community GP Valencia MotoGP Free Practice 2 – Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest in the second free practice session of the MotoGP class in Valencia. The Majorcan Ducati rider set the best lap with a time of 1:30.640, a time that allowed him to precede Dani Pedrosa's Honda, 0.122s behind.
Third time for Andrea Dovizioso, who pays a gap from the top of 0.309s. The rider from Forlì, who must recover 21 points from Marc Marquez in terms of the world championship, completed 20 laps and his best pass was the eighteenth.
His rival, Marquez, crashed at the end of the session, when he was occupying fifth place. The Honda rider slipped after a loss of grip at the front of his RC213V, a fall caused by a "long" braking.
Johann Zarco, fourth and best Yamaha rider (riding the M1 Sat of Team Tech 3), did better than Marquez. Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales instead finished in ninth and eleventh position, always looking for the best set up of their M1s.
Sixth time for Jack Miller, who preceded Cal Crutchlow and Ducati tester Michele Pirro. Said of Rossi ninth, the Top Ten is closed by Pol Espargarò, riding the KTM and crashing as well as his brother Aleix, without physical consequences.
Andrea Iannone, the best of FP1, is only eighteenth, but his position is also "the result" of a fall at turn 10 in the final minutes of the session. There were no physical consequences for the Suzuki rider either.
Team Ducati Pramac's Danilo Petrucci from Terni was in difficulty and ended the session in twenty-second position, 1.552s from the top.
