MotoGP – Valencia – Dani Pedrosa: “One of the hardest races of my life”

Brilliant performance for Dani Pedrosa, among the protagonists of the race in the first eight laps of the race, when the Spaniard seemed capable of fighting for the victory. With a good start, Pedrosa gained four positions at the first corner and then took second. Pedrosa pushed to close on Stoner and also set the fastest lap of the race. At the end of the seventh lap, the Spanish driver was glued to Stoner. Lap after lap, fatigue due to the recent operation on his left collarbone forced him to drop to seventh. “It was one of the toughest races of my life. I wasn't sure if I could finish the race, but I did it and I'm proud of it. I am very happy and exhausted at the same time. I made a good start to being with Stoner. I pushed to maintain the pace and also set the fastest lap on the fifth pass on the straight. Then the strength started to decline. When the group reached me I tried to stay focused to finish the race. I was counting the laps because the race was really challenging. Regarding the championship, second place was not our goal at the beginning of the year, but after the accident in Japan we know how hard it was to maintain second position. Now I want to rest to get back on track on Tuesday for the tests.”
