Andrea Dovizioso MotoGP 2016 Valencia Team Ducati – Andrea Dovizioso was unable to push hard in the last Grand Prix of the season, due to the lack of front grip of his Ducati. The rider from Forlì, winner in Sepang, nevertheless finished the championship in fifth position. His season despite several zeros, many due to external events, is considered positive.

Andrea, tell us about this race, which didn't see you among the protagonists.

“It's a shame, I was expecting a different race, but right from the start I had a problem with the front. We still don't know what happened, fortunately we will have two days of tests that will help us understand. I risked falling several times, I'm sorry, but I'm confident and can't wait to try the new bike.”

It's your fourth season at Ducati, was it the turning point?

“The real turning point came last year, we went back to fighting for podiums and victories. This year we continued the refinement work. We finished the season in a positive way and that makes the difference.”

From Tuesday Lorenzo will be your teammate, what can he give to Ducati?

“He's a multiple world champion and I think Ducati did the right thing in hiring him. I can't say how he will find himself, we'll see, it will depend a lot on how he approaches this challenge."

Andrea, give a vote to Michelin, to you and to Ducati

“Despite what happened, Michelin must give it a good rating. The level of MotoGP is particularly high and the tests are not enough to simulate race weekends. In certain races we went faster both on the flying lap and on the total distance, this is very positive. The quality needs to be improved, it has to be top notch, you can't afford to have different tyres, they know it too and are working on it. I would give Michelin an eight and a half. I want to give myself a good rating, because unlike other years I managed to evolve over the course of the weekend. In previous years if I had a bad start on Friday the situation would hardly improve, but this year it has happened several times. In terms of rating I give Dovizioso eight, as well as Ducati. "
