MotoGP | Official, Danilo Petrucci will join Andrea Dovizioso in Ducati
The rider from Terni takes the place of Jorge Lorenzo, who moved to Honda Repsol
2019 Ducati Team Motorcycle Market – Danilo Petrucci will race next season with the official Ducati, joining his compatriot Andrea Dovizioso.
The rider from Terni was "promoted" to the official team after racing for four years with Team Ducati Pramac, a team that has developed several riders and which next year will field Jack Miller and the leader of the Moto2 Class World Championship Francesco Bagnaia.
Petrux will replace Jorge Lorenzo, who will race for the next two years with Honda Repsol, where he will join Marc Marquez.
After his first victory with Ducati at Mugello, the Majorcan then moves on to the Japanese giant, where he will form a real Dream Team.

I also want to thank the managers of Ducati and Ducati Corse – Claudio Domenicali, Gigi Dall'Igna and Paolo Ciabatti – who appreciated me first as a person and then as a rider and I can't wait to start this new adventure in the official team.”

Jorge is a great champion, capable of incredible feats, and although it is sad that it took him so long to find the right feeling with our bike, we will continue to do everything possible to put him in a position to achieve further victories in the remaining rounds of the season and fight for the world title together with his teammate Andrea Dovizioso. I would like to give a warm welcome to Danilo, who we look forward to seeing in the colors of Team Ducati next year, together with Andrea.

It is difficult to understand the choices of the Ducati management, how to better evaluate the Dovizioso-Petrucci pairing than the Iannone-Lorenzo one
I think Dovizioso is the rider who has won the most after Stoner in Ducati... is that why they're holding on to him?
well... unlike Lorenzo who left of his own accord, if I were Ducati, I would give Domenicali a good job...
petrucci was certainly not taken because he is a phenomenon, but certainly an excellent squire, in my opinion better this way rather than two drivers stealing points from each other if you want to aim for the drivers' world championship, which is what it is which remains in people's minds....with Petrucci you can then work better in a single direction rather than making two motions which are two different planets as happens with Lorenzo....
