MotoGP: Valencia Test Day 1, few riders on track, Bautista in the lead

In the photo by Alex Farinelli, Valentino Rossi in action with the Yamaha M1 in Valencia

Day 1 in Valencia didn't start in the best way. Unfortunately, the rain made its appearance on Spanish soil, so the riders only completed a few laps.

On the track were Alvaro Bautista with the Honda of Team Gresini, Loris Capirossi with the bike of Bradley Smith (the Yamaha of Team Tech 3), Stefan Bradl with the Honda of Team LCR, Andrea Dovizioso with the Ducati, Hiroshi Aoyama with the FTR of Team Blusens Avintia, Valentino Rossi with Yamaha and Karel Abraham with the ART Aprilia CRT.

Rossi took to the track at 10:04, but like his colleagues he only completed a few laps, three to be precise. At the moment all the drivers are stopped in the pits.

Times at 10.45 pm

1. Alvaro Bautista – 1.35.936
2. Loris Capirossi – 1.35.954 (with Bradley Smith's bike)
3. Stefan Bradl – 1.36.198
4. Andrea Dovizioso – 1.39.868
5. Hiroshi Aoyama – 1.42.239
6. Valentino Rossi – 1.44.158
7. Karel Abraham – 1.47.129

I said that Rossi had to take some blame for the failure in Ducati, in fact he is about 8 or 9s from the lead, despite Yamaha being world champion (actually vice)!!!
    In the end it boiled!
    Ahahahahaha!!!!

...sorry for the nonsense, I was hoping to see a proper test, but in this weather I don't even know what they're doing... ugh.

I'm sorry but you can't say this, although I believe Rossi and Burges are guilty of the Ducati failure, I believe that these laps count for nothing.
Even more so in the rain.
Let's wait and see what will happen.....

Maybe I lack a sense of humor, but here it seems to me that it is becoming a national sport to say: I was joking... and in any case it wasn't a reproach, I responded to the post, saying what I think...

Today's tests and also tomorrow's tests and a good part of the next ones, in my opinion, are not worth a damn!
    But I already said it…

There are things called: familiarization, habituation, etc. etc.
    and it takes some time.
    And laps on the track.
    Under normal conditions….

w-the.. I remind you that in Sepang 2004 after not riding for 3 months he set the track record on his debut on a Yamaha. let's say more about the conditions of the track... from one of the Cartizze gang!!

      1. tester said:

and then there's something that doesn't add up... on drifts they all give different times and much higher ones!!!

      2. fatman said:

...I'm part of the gang too, I imagine (and hope)...for the motorbikes we need to wait for better times...at a certain point I turned off the audio so as not to hear med, biased as usual...I was trying to make comparisons with the last one wet race, with different temperatures, more or less rubberized track...he saw Rossi driving better...either he has a bionic eye or he said c@zz@te, in my opinion the second...I'll just say one thing: creating too many expectations right away doesn't it's nice, haste is a very bad advisor in everything, let alone when it concerns motorbikes... even if you are a 9-time world champion it can be detrimental... I repeat, let's wait for dry weather and we'll take stock... now you could say that Dovi is already ahead of him, shooting another bullshit... in Malaysia we will probably see the real values... and then let's leave aside 2004, other bikes, tires etc... and 8 years younger... and without Lorenzo, Pedrosa and the new rampants... having said this I will console myself for the disappointment of having followed the other round wet with a few sips of Dalwhinnie aged 20 years... I recommend it to everyone... cheers!!!

        oh Ftaman!

if you offer me 4 fingers of your 20 year old Dalwhinnie, not only will I make peace with you (which I have already made) but I will also wash your car!
        ;-)

you're right, but I'm also convinced that the Rossi of today is not the one of 8 years ago, no problem admitting it, but I'm also forced to say that, again in my opinion, the real Rossi isn't even the one we saw in Ducati until now….
        A healthy middle ground, go!

w-the… at 33 you are more mature and physically at the top. medicine says that men are at their best from 30 to 35/36. and then this is demonstrated by the years of the 500s, which were more demanding to drive, which took the age of 30 to get them and then improved more and more. Replying to the post above... they are all welcome for the cartization!! ! I'm crazy about it!!

@fatman!!!! hi fatman. if you are missing everyone is missing!!! I was telling my wife about the beer story at 11:00 in the morning…. he didn't understand... I was still laughing like crazy!!! you're too strong and you also know a lot. (I was talking about motorbikes) not like rob or tonykart who haven't seen comments in a long time... but they raced every second and who out of four…

      7. fatman said:

        @testoner

…hey, I really beat you with the beer thing ah, ah…anyway, as they say on TV, “Don't try this at home” ah, ah, ah…at least not under sixteen…about rob and tonykart , I understand them... I also ran around in the off-road vehicle... I even held Puzar's tail for a few laps, you will certainly remember him in Ceva... I wasn't exactly a standstill and therefore I also see the races in a certain way... the difference perhaps it's that I respect other people's opinions more, even if mine is different...and then the world is beautiful because it's varied...otherwise we'd all be drunks like myself ah, ah, ah...hello to you and your wife !!!

    Hi guys,

this morning I managed to connect late and I missed everyone's first laps but, above all, those of Capirex.

I would say that, leaving aside the tests and the rain for a moment, he was the real protagonist.

So much for it..., he hasn't been on the track for a year, he gets on the bike of someone taller (handlebars far away), he doesn't even ask what the buttons are for, he just adjusts the brake lever and, if he did one more lap, maybe he would have arrived ahead of Bautista too...

    Congratulations to the pensioner :-)

    Great Loris, 10 cum laude.
