MotoGP: Valencia Test Day 1, Marquez finishes ahead of Iannone and Pedrosa
First day of testing with Michelin and unique control unit
MotoGP #2016startsnow – Marc Marquez set the best time on the first day of MotoGP testing in Valencia, where the Michelins and the single control unit officially debuted (which however was not used by all the teams).
The Honda rider stopped the clock on a time of 1:31.551, but also crashed ready to go, losing the front of his RC213V. The #93 Honda preceded the Ducati GP88 of Andrea Iannone by just 15 thousandths, one of the few riders who found himself at ease with the French tyres.
The Ducati rider also crashed, but he did so after making a major change to his Desmosedici.
In third position we find Dani Pedrosa, who preceded the Suzuki of Maverick Vinales, the Yamaha of Jorge Lorenzo, the Honda of Cal Crutchlow and the Team Tech 3 Yamahas of Pol Espargarò and Bradley Smith.
Aleix Espargarò and Andrea Dovizioso round out the Top Ten. Scott Redding, making his debut on the Pramac Racing Ducati GP15, set the eleventh time ahead of Valentino Rossi and Danilo Petrucci.
