MotoGP: Sepang Test Day 3, Valentino Rossi “I'm very satisfied, second only to Pedrosa on the pace”
Excellent test finish for the Pesaro rider who also says "In Qatar Lorenzo will fight for the victory"
Valentino Rossi finished at the top (albeit tied with Dani Pedrosa) in the three days of MotoGP collective testing organized by IRTA. The Pesaro native took his Yamaha to the top of the time list with a time of 1:59.999 and at the end of the day he declared himself satisfied. However, he was unable to finish the race simulation due to a problem with the front tire.
“I am more than satisfied with the work done here in Sepang. We set a great time and had good pace but we need to improve it. I can say that if the Grand Prix were held today we could be on pole, but Pedrosa would win the race. I feel more competitive than a year ago, but unfortunately in the race simulation we had a problem with the front tire. Honda is still superior here, but we were always among the first.”
Chapter new Bridgestone tyre, which didn't seem to fit the Yamaha
“We have made a lot of progress with the 2014 tire. When we came here at the beginning of the month I was a second slower.”
Lorenzo only sixth and in difficulty. how do you explain it?
“I'm sure that in Qatar (first race) he will be there fighting for the victory.”

That's bad, the Hondas are in front, if Pedrosa is better let alone Marquez.
As for Jorge, I don't know, either he's really having difficulty, or he's holding himself back so as not to show Rossi and Galbusera how to recover those tenths which last year varied from 2 to 5 tenths per lap depending on the GP. It seems strange to me that he who brought out the best in Yamaha is now relegated to secondary positions, there is something underneath, whatever it is I hope to see him up front, because without Jorge, Rossi won't be able to compete with Marquez and Pedrosa, and as we have already seen, Marquez is stronger than Dani so the 2014 world championship would already be written in the absence of injuries.
Lorenzo is in obvious difficulty, Honda remains favorite with Marquez and Pedrosa in order, if this is the technical scenario Marquez will only have to fight against his brand mate because even considering Rossi in a clear recovery I think it is unlikely that he will be able to counter during the arc the Honda Riders win the championship...and then if I had to bet on M1 I would bet on Lorenzo who I believe has greater margins for improvement than Rossi.

I am very happy for Dovi, as it is obvious that I am for the newfound form of vale but at the same time I hope that being competitive at this moment depends solely on being put in such conditions just to encourage interest of the public to subscribe to sky subscriptions. I am convinced that Vale can still have his say if put in a position to be competitive, my hope is that this condition will also be perpetrated during the world championship. It seems rather strange to me, on the other hand, Jorge's lower competitiveness... that he didn't seriously sign that famous pre-agreement with ducati? …….
I find it quite unlikely that Lorenzo would go to Ducati when they want him in the official Honda.

pedrosa apparently (just rumors) wants to get him out of hrc. (I don't agree, for me he is an excellent driver) although I would focus on a. spread out. he he

Lorenzo is so angry that if he bites his tongue he'll dry up. He is unable to set the bike to take advantage of the tyres. which no one likes, among other things.
