MotoGP Test Sepang Day 2 Petronas Yamaha – Second day of testing not 'exciting' for the Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing team, at least from the point of view of the general classification, with a fourteenth time for Fabio Quartararo followed at a good distance by Franco Morbidelli.

For the Italian-Brazilian driver he was the victim of a crash at the first corner in the early hours of the day. The accident, fortunately without consequences, however prevented him from doing a time attack. During the day 'Morbido' completed 58 laps, stopping the clock at 2'00.151 as his best performance.

These are the words of Franco Morbidelli: “Today we focused on improving grip and trying to set a good pace with the used tyres. I am satisfied with the work done and the progress we have made on both compounds. It was a shame to crash so early because we missed the best part of the day and the chance to do a good time attack. In general, we improved the sensations from yesterday, so I'm happy. We are showing good form in the test but we still have a lot of work to do. Tomorrow we will continue to work, try to improve our performance and make more progress in general. We will continue to push as hard as we can.”

On the other side of the garage, Fabio Quartararo completed 58 laps, recording his best performance on the eleventh lap.

These are the words of Fabio Qartararo: “The second day here at the Sepang International Circuit was very positive. This morning we set some good lap times with the new tires and made the most of the track conditions to make an attack on the time, which I was really happy with. This afternoon we tried to improve but it wasn't possible. We worked a lot on the bike's setting, especially in braking, where we managed to improve the feeling. This evening we will analyze the data and return tomorrow to try to improve the lap time and make more progress in braking, which is the area where we have the most room to improve."
