MotoGP – Sepang Test Day 2 Morning – Hayden leading with the qualifying Michelins

Second day of MotoGP testing at "Sepang II". Ideal conditions, 34° ambient temperature, 45° asphalt: the best to be able to test on the Malaysian track, concentrating your work in particular on the tyres. This is what Nicky Hayden did, who took to the track this morning testing various specifications on behalf of Michelin, including qualifying: 2'00"900, his best time with chewing gum, obtained close to 14pm. An important reference for sure , but 6 tenths higher than the "monstre" time set yesterday by Valentino Rossi in 2'00"300. Today the rider from Pesaro concentrated on setting up the bike, finding a good balance enough to set an excellent 2'01"598.

Behind him we find Jorge Lorenzo with the Michelin-shod Yamaha YZR M1 with a high time, 2'02"888, ahead of the Hondas of the Gresini team of Alex De Angelis and Shinya Nakano. On track were Yamaha test riders Wataru Yoshikawa and Norihiko Fujiwara, as well as Kawasaki testers Olivier Jacque and Tamaki Serizawa. Contrary to what was previously written, the Akashi company did not bring the regular "screamer" engine to Sepang, postponing its development to the next IRTA tests in Jerez, where it will be available to the starting riders.
