MotoGP – Sepang Test Day 2 – Difficult day for Jorge Lorenzo
By his own admission, these trials are not going according to plan. Jorge Lorenzo at "Sepang II" has so far failed to repeat the times of last January's tests, colliding with his Michelin-tyred Yamaha YZR M1. The Majorcan, 2'02"396 his best time reference, always has the same problem, namely confidence with the front when entering and navigating corners. If a solution is not found, Jorge will never be able to drive according to his will: for this reason, together with the entourage led by the Romagnoli-Forcada couple, we are looking for various solutions in terms of set-up, in order to help Lorenzo in these Malaysian tests.
“It was a really difficult day”, says Jorge Lorenzo. “We're not fast enough, we can't repeat the times of the last tests even though we have practically the same set-up. It's obvious, we need to improve. In the end my problem is always the same, that is the feeling with the front. We will work on this with the team: a long briefing awaits us, we hope to choose the right path".
Looking at the glass half full, compared to "Sepang I", Jorge no longer talks about engine braking problems. At least one aspect has been resolved, now we're focusing everything... on the front.
