MotoGP – Sepang Test Day 1 – Jorge Lorenzo: “Good start”

Reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo finished in second position on the first day of MotoGP testing on the Sepang track. In addition to finding the right feeling with the bike, the Majorcan also had to adapt to his new supplier, Alpinestars. Towards the end of the session he tried to push a little more and the first feeling on the new bike was positive. The word is up to him.

“It was a good start today, we tried some things and I had a good impression; not great improvements but as I said in Valencia in last year's tests, the 2011 bike seems to have less "wheelie" and therefore allows you to open the throttle earlier. In some corners I then noticed greater speed. Today was my first time wearing Alpinestars, so there are a lot of things to get used to. We pushed a little harder towards the end of the session but tomorrow we will continue to work step by step.”
