“Now the work begins. We are trying to improve last year's RC213V and during this day we had two 2020 models inside the garage, not counting the intermediate version between the new one and the one from last season. We ran the test program with a small delay around lunchtime, but that's normal. Overall it was nice to get back on the bike, but tomorrow will be quite a tougher day. We will learn a lot more about what we have.”

“From my side it was a bit difficult. It's been four months since I last rode at Motegi and we're talking about a fairly long period without riding a MotoGP. Physically the situation isn't the best yet, but overall it was nice to be back on the bike. With the team, even if we haven't looked at the timing references, we need to improve the package. There are a lot of things I need to understand and there is a big difference between the '18 and '19 version. We will continue this work tomorrow."
