MotoGP | Qatar Test Day 2: Maverick Vinales, “Yamaha worked hard this winter”
"I can't wait to get back on the bike" added the Spaniard
MotoGP Yamaha Monster 2021 – Maverick Vinales closed the second and final day of testing in Qatar with the seventh fastest time.
The Spanish driver continued to work on perfecting his driving style. Although he suffered a small crash at Turn 2 when temperatures dropped, the Spaniard remained unharmed and was able to continue. His best time of 1'54.395, achieved on the 55th lap of 66, earned him seventh position in both today's timesheets and the combined Day 1-2 timesheet, 0.455s behind first.

“We are aiming for consistency this season. I am happy and happy with the test. Yamaha has worked hard this winter. At the end of today's session, we had five or six laps which were really good for us. These were the lap times we were looking for. I focused on my riding style and tried to go with the flow. I was surprised that I could ride in 1'54 even when there wasn't much grip. I can't wait to get back on the bike on Wednesday and set faster lap times."
