MotoGP Test Qatar Day 1: Lorenzo is the fastest, 3rd and 4th place for Rossi and Iannone

MotoGP 2016 Test Qatar – Jorge Lorenzo achieved the best time on the first day of IRTA testing of the MotoGP class held on the Losail circuit, where the 20 world championship will start on March 2016th.

The reigning Yamaha champion stopped the clock at a time of 1:55.452, a time achieved in the 23rd of the 36 laps made. The feeling with the M1 and the Losail track has always been excellent and this performance is proof of this.

Behind him was the excellent Maverick Vinales, riding the Suzuki GSX-RR. The Spaniard's is a confirmation after the best time achieved in the three days of Phillip Island. The #25 who lapped 0.428s from Lorenzo, preceded our Valentino Rossi and Andrea Iannone, the former riding the Yamaha YZR-M1 of Team Movistar, the latter riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP.

Rossi strangely crashed during the first lap, but returned to the pits without problems. As already mentioned, the Yamaha does very well on this circuit and the same thing can be said of the Ducati. Behind Iannone we find three other bikes from the Borgo Panigale company.

The Desmosedici GP15 of Scott Redding's Team Pramac, the GP14.2 of Hector Barberà's Team Avintia and the Desmosedici GP of Andrea Dovizioso. Cal Crutchlow's Team LCR Honda and Bradley Smith's Team Tech 3 Yamaha follow.

Honda is back, placing Marc Marquez only in tenth position. The two-time world champion completed 45 laps, the best in 1:56.523 on the 29th lap, which relegates him 1.071 from the top. An uphill start which is also demonstrated by Dani Pedrosa's thirteenth place.

Today the new Aprilia RS-GP made its debut together with all the other bikes. The best was that of Stefan Bradl, who finished in nineteenth position, 2.614 behind Lorenzo. Further back Alvaro Bautista, twenty-second at 3.301. Michele Pirro, who replaces the injured Danilo Petrucci, finished seventeenth, 2.439 from the top.
