MotoGP | Portimao Test Day 2, Vinales: “Two positive days”

MotoGP Test Portimao Aprilia Racing – Maverick Vinales closed the second and final day of IRTA testing at the Portimao circuit with the twelfth fastest time.

The Italian team brought a copious series of innovations to the track, from the more visible aerodynamic appendages to less obvious (but equally substantial) evolutions in all aspects of the 2023 RS-GP. The analysis of the data and comments collected during these two days will provide Aprilia technicians with the information necessary to define the starting technical configuration for both riders.

At the end of the two days, Maverick covered a total of 170 laps, the best of which was 1'38.678.

Statement by Maverick Vinales Day 2 Test Portimao MotoGP 2023

“Two positive days, I would say like all our preparation for the championship. Yesterday I also found myself very good in terms of lap time, while today we did a slightly different job. I have never used the best combination of compounds, riding a lot in less than perfect grip conditions and this allowed me to learn a lot. I would like to always ride at the top but I'm sure that this type of work will bring us benefits during a weekend. I can't wait to start getting serious, to see our level and start fighting."
