Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest rider in all three days of Bridgestone testing at Phillip Island. The two-time Top Class world champion was also the only one who managed to do a long run, with good timing. The feedback given to Bridgestone should be enough to reassure them for the race scheduled for October, he has the say.

“I did the race simulation, even though the tire I used wasn't perfect compared to the standard one (that of the 2013 race) and the grip on the edge was lower, particularly on the right side – said Lorenzo as reported by MCN – I hope that Bridgestone understands which is the best tire for the race, they now have a lot of information. On the left side of the rear tire there was good grip and it was very consistent, while on the right the tire was very worn and I had a lot of problems in right-hand corners. If the tire had behaved in the right corners as well as in the left ones we could say we had found the right tire for the race. This track has a lot of left-hand corners which are much harder, but perhaps the right-side compound was too soft. If they can make it a little harder on the right side it would be perfect. The standard tire (the 2013 one) is the best for setting lap times, has the best grip on both sides, with much more traction, but fails to finish the race. From the outside this isn't noticeable, but Bridgestone said it's deteriorated on the inside and I haven't done more than six laps in a row on this tire.”

For once I agree with you, think about what Rossi went through in the two years where he couldn't compete with the best.
