Andrea Dovizioso he ends the first day of testing at Phillip Island outside the timesheets. In fact, the Forlì native, riding his Ducati, only left the garage for a couple of laps, but always returned to the pit lane and therefore did not set any time in the end. Unlike the other riders, who took advantage of the uncertain weather to test the various types of compounds, Dovi instead preferred to stay in the pits hoping that tomorrow the sun will finally return. Did he do well? after all, the uncertain weather could also be used to test the new intermediate tire brought by Michelin.

“Honestly, today was a wasted day for me – said Andrea Dovizioso – This morning perhaps we should have gone out on track when the rain was heaviest, to do a few laps in wet weather. Instead, we preferred to wait a bit but the situation didn't improve, with the track almost always damp. In the afternoon I did a couple of "out-ins" with my Desmosedici GP, to give my engineers the opportunity to do some checks, and now I really hope that tomorrow and Friday the weather will be good and that I will be able to ride for a long time with the new bike.”
