The lap of 1'31.588 took him to sixth place in the Day 1 Misano Test standings, 0.296 from first.

Fabio Quartararo Statements Misano MotoGP Test 2022

“Today we had three bikes: one was the standard bike, one with a new frame and one with the first prototype of the 2023 engine. Today I had the chance to test all three bikes. The new chassis was good, we will take it to Aragon anyway, but I don't know if we will try it there too. The first steps with the 2023 bike have been good. It works quite well in the areas of acceleration and top speed, so I'm happy. Considering this is just the first step, I'm looking forward to the next engine improvement. These were the two things I tested today: chassis and engine. I feel a little better in the “upper zone”. This is a good step. It's the first time we really feel like we've made an improvement. Yamaha is confident they can improve a little more, so let's hope they do.”
