The second day of testing of the MotoGP class at Losail, a 5.380 km circuit, where the 23 world championship will start on 2014 March, saw the riders continue to work with their teams in search of the best set-up, working above all in race optics. Even today the pit lane was open from 16pm to 23pm local time (14pm-00pm Italian time) and the fastest at the end of the long session was Alvaro Bautista riding the Honda RC21V of Team Gresini.

The Spaniard stopped the clock at a time of 1:55.194 (recorded in the 18th of 55 laps), a time very close to the track record set in 2008 by Casey Stoner. Behind him we find the second Honda Factory, that of the LCR Team of German Stefan Bradl, separated from its brand mate by 314 thousandths.

Third time for Aleix Espargarò, the fastest on Day 1. The Forward Racing Spaniard brought his Yamaha Open ahead of the two Yamaha M1s of Team Tech 3 of Bradley Smith and his brother Pol, 2013 world champion in the Moto2 class.

Andrea Iannone with the Ducati GP14 Open of Team Pramac is sixth (same position occupied yesterday). The Abruzzo native is continuing the development of the bike given the forced "stop" of Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchow, who having participated in the Bridgestone tests at Phillip Island cannot be on the track like Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi.

Iannone precedes the American Colin Edwards with the second Yamaha Open of Team Forward, team-mate Yonny Hernandez (who however rides the GP13 and who was first the victim of a technical problem and then of a fall, which fortunately resolved without physical consequences) and four Honda RCV1000R Opens, those of Nicky Hayden (Drive M7 Aspar Team), Scott Redding (GO&FUN Honda Gresini), Hiroshi Aoyama (with the second Team Aspar bike) and Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing).

Thirteenth time for Brok Parkes. The Team PBM rider is followed by Hector Barberà, team-mate Michael Laverty, Frenchman Mike di Meglio and Danilo Petrucci from Terni, on his second day astride the ART and struggling with electronics problems that kept him stationary for a long time time in the pits.

Tomorrow is the third and last day of testing at the same times, from 16pm to 23pm local time (14pm-00pm Italian).

We'll see on race day if they can repeat these times, or if in this test the track actually seems and is faster than usual, as happened in the first Sepang test!

It's difficult to make a comparison with the times set in qualifying and the race in other years, I think the conditions are different, which is why they're going so fast.
