MotoGP | Jerez test: Maverick Vinales, “We tried different things, but we have to continue to improve”

MotoGP Test Jerez – Maverick Vinales closed the Jerez tests with the fifth fastest time.

During the day, the Yamaha Spaniard tried some small innovations and made various comparisons with the set up. At the end of the day he completed 94 laps with his best performance coming in the 90th. The #12 stopped the clock at 1:37.226, around 8 tenths behind his brand mate, Fabio Quartararo, leader of the tests.

These are the words of Maverick Vinales: “We tested many new features today. I did a lot of laps on race tires and it wasn't bad. I rode very well over the race distance, but in any case we need to continue to improve. Le Mans is a track where the grip level is quite good, so I'm not too worried. It's a good track for me, so my mind is already there for the French GP. We found some positives and negatives in today's testing, as always, but nothing special. There are still some things to improve, especially on my part, my riding style, and we need to find something to improve the traction. But I'm not worried because my race pace was good, I felt close to the top of the standings.”
