MotoGP Yamaha Test Jerez Day 2 – Valentino Rossi did not go beyond the eleventh time on the second and final day of IRTA testing of the MotoGP class in Jerez da la Frontera.

In the last test of the year the Pesaro driver didn't find what he was looking for, less high tire wear after a few laps, even if he's not entirely pessimistic, progress is there, but perhaps not at the level of the competition

The good performance of his team-mate Maverick Vinales gives him hope, but for Rossi the problems are not yet resolved despite the Spaniard's optimism. Here's what Rossi had to say at the end of Day 2 in Andalusia.

JEREZ MOTOGP TEST REPORT

“Maverick went very fast in terms of pace and this is an important thing, I was also quite fast, especially compared to yesterday. We did some tests which proved to be correct and we ended with a positive day. However, the road is still long and I hope that Yamaha brings innovation, because it seems to me that our rivals are fast – said Valentino Rossi – The engine with more engine braking than those we had here is the best one, but let's say that we have to improve in general and accelerating.”

OPTIMISM MAVERICK VINALES

“I really like Maverick's optimism, but in my opinion the problems should be solved first. He went fast and had a good pace, maybe he was one of the best and that's positive."

END OF COLLABORATION WITH LUCA CADALORA

“Unfortunately we tried to keep Cadalora for the next two years but he elegantly told us no. I understand it because it's quite a demanding commitment, all the races and all the tests. We were together for three years and it was a great experience, we had a lot of fun and we also did a good job. However, Luca decided to stay at home and here was Idalio Gavira because he works for the Riders Academy and is also the coach of Team Sky. Everything is still to be decided for next year.”

    From corsedimoto.it:
You can criticize him all you want, but the observation that Valentino Rossi made at the end of the Jerez tests is a sunny truth. “In the last two years the technical situation in MotoGP has changed a lot... Ducati was the first to take a step, in terms of quantity of people, quantity of engineers, quantity of people working at home and working on the races, etc. They moved a little closer to F1, Honda followed. Now to win you have to make that effort."
It's true, the disparity in forces on the field is striking. Ducati brought an army of engineers to Spain, involved in the development of all areas: engine, chassis, electronics, aerodynamics. On the Ducati "Factory", in two days, we saw all kinds of new things: strange metal arms under the swingarm, "winged" tails, new aerodynamic profiles. If there were so many innovations visible to the eye, imagine what could be under evaluation in the "invisible" sectors: development of the engine, but above all progress in the crucial sector of modern MotoGP, electronics. Ducati worked in Spain with three official riders (Dovizioso, Petrucci and tester Bautista) as well as Miller, an "adjunct" official seconded to Pramac. But in this preparation phase the satellite formations are also used for specific experiments. If the effort is so evident on the track, imagine yourself at home.

It's a correct observation, but it's also correct that when Yamaha was competitive, Maverick won and not him...

But the geriatrician has the second in his wrist and fixes the bike in 80 seconds, he shouldn't complain... will he still want the rubber like in past years? So he won due to the superiority of the bike like everyone else? Say it once and for all…
